2 asteroids may terrorize today on Christmas Nasa shares details

Asteroids come towards Earth: Today, on the occasion of Christmas, on 25th December, our Earth will face 2 asteroids. These will pass very close to our planet. For this reason, the American space agency NASA has considered them potentially dangerous for the Earth. However, there is no possibility of these asteroids colliding with the Earth. Despite this, scientists will monitor both asteroids until they move far away from the Earth. Let us know about these asteroids in detail.

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Nasa JPL) provides information every day about potentially dangerous asteroids that are approaching the Earth. On December 24 also, two asteroids came close to the Earth. Today, on the occasion of Christmas, Earth has to face 2 new asteroids. The first asteroid among these is – (2023 YT). As the name suggests, this rocky disaster was discovered this year. When the asteroid belonging to the Aton group comes close to the Earth, the distance between the two will be 23 lakh 40 thousand kilometers. Its size is about 63 feet, which is as big as a house.

NASA considers such asteroids which pass close to the Earth at a distance of 8 million kilometers or less, dangerous for our planet. The direction of the asteroid can change at any time. If these rock fragments collide with the Earth, they can cause destruction on a large scale. It is believed that dinosaurs were wiped out from our earth millions of years ago due to the destruction caused by an asteroid collision.

The name of the second asteroid coming close to the Earth today is – (2023 XK16). Its size is about 120 feet, which is as big as an airplane. It will cross the Earth from a distance of 33 lakh 40 thousand kilometers. Scientists are keeping an eye on both asteroids. As of now, the hope is that there will be no change in their direction and they will pass through our planet safely.
