Delhi Pollution parking fee double in ndmc area till january 2024 full details
According to PTI report, there are a total of 91 parking sites in the NDMC area. Of these, 41 are managed by NDMC. The remaining maintenance has been 'outsourced' to other agencies. The parking spaces between Rajpath and AIIMS fall in NDMC area. These include Sarojini Nagar Market, Khan Market, Lodhi Road, INA and Safdarjung. There is more vehicular traffic at these places.
In order to encourage citizens to use public transport to reduce the air pollution, NDMC enhanced Parking fees (off road/on road)to twice of the existing fee for parking managed by NDMC through its own staff till 31st January 2024

Now an official notification has said that in view of the seasonal conditions, the parking fees on parking areas managed by NDMC have been doubled till January 31, 2024. It has been said in the notification that the purpose of this decision is to discourage people from using private vehicles.
It has also been said that this decision has been taken as per the fourth phase of the 'Graded Action Response Plan' (GRAP) implemented in Delhi due to the pollution situation. Talking about parking fees, at present the fee charged in NDMC parking area is Rs 20 per hour. This is a maximum of Rs 100 per day. For a two wheeler one has to pay Rs 10 per hour or Rs 50 per day. This fee will now double and will hit people's pockets.
