Police in the UK have recovered a Ferrari that was stolen from a Formula 1 driver 28 years ago. This was the Ferrari F512M model which was in red colour. It was stolen from a man named Gerhard Berger and sent to Japan. Then in the UK it was brought back to 2023. Its price is said to be 350,000 pounds (about Rs 3 crore 72 lakh). It was one of two vehicles stolen at that time.

Gerhard Berger was racing at the San Marino Grand Prix in Italy in 1995 when his luxury car was stolen, BBC reports. Ferrari sent a report to the Metropolitan Police in January 2024. In which the car was told. In 2023, Ferrari inspected a car that an American customer was purchasing through a UK broker. Inspection revealed that the car was stolen.

Metropolitan Police officer Mike Pilbeam investigated it. According to the officer, the car was missing for 28 years. They tracked it in 4 days. He benefited from their inquiries, which included contacting authorities around the world. However, no arrest has been made in this case yet. But the investigation is still going on.

The Ferrari Testarossa was last produced as the Ferrari F512M. Approximately 500 cars were produced from 1994 to 1996. Ferrari's flagship vehicle in the 1980s was the Testarossa, which was featured prominently in the popular crime drama Miami Vice. Among the faces like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Elton John, one of them was Gerhard Berger who owned this luxury car at that time.
