iQOO is reportedly working on the iQOO Z9 series smartphones for multiple markets including China. It is likely to be the first to arrive in the Chinese market, with a launch within the first quarter of this year. Last year's Z-series lineup included the iQOO Z8 and iQOO Z8x for the Chinese market. It is still not clear whether the brand will launch the iQOO Z9x as an upgrade to the Z8x this year. DCS claimed that the Z-branded phone will feature an OLED display with 1.5K resolution. This will be a big upgrade, as the Z8 series sports a 6.64-inch IPS LCD display that supports FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, it is likely that he is talking about the iQOO Z9, but there is no information about its display size and refresh rate.

He further revealed that the SM7550 Snapdragon chip will power the upcoming Z-series phones. This model number confirms that it will have Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. The same chip is also present in Honor 100 and Vivo S18 smartphones available in the Chinese market.
