Even today many people are afraid of shopping through e-commerce platforms, the main reason for which is the delivery of wrong goods. For example, in the last several years, many such cases have come into the limelight, where a person orders a smartphone and in return he gets a brick or soap or some other thing inside the box of the same smartphone. The latest case is also similar, where a person had ordered a mobile phone from an e-commerce portal, but when he opened the box, he was shocked.

According to NDTV, a man from Maharashtra's Thane district ordered a smartphone worth Rs 46,000 while shopping online, but the parcel he received reportedly contained three bars of soap. Police informed about this incident on Monday.

According to the report, an officer from Bhayandar police station said that it appeared that the victim's parcel had been tampered with during delivery. He also told that the victim had ordered an iPhone model worth Rs 46,000 from an online shopping platform.

Police quoted the complaint filed by the victim and said that when he opened the package, he found three dishwashing soaps in the mobile phone packet. Police on Saturday registered a case under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against an unknown criminal and investigation has been started.

This is not the first incident where soap has been found inside someone's smartphone box. Last year, a person bought iPhone 12 during the Big Billion Days sale. For this delivery, he had chosen the open box scheme of the e-commerce platform, in which at the time of delivery, the customer is first shown the package after opening it and then to register the successful delivery, the customer is asked for the OTP received on his phone. As soon as the delivery person opened the upper packaging, instead of iPhone 12, two soaps came out.
