Microsoft may launch Surface all-in-one PC: Report

It is reported that Microsoft is working on a new all-in-one (AIO) PC under its Surface brand. The new Surface AIO PCs are expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2016. Redmond's company is also expected to launch the second generation Surface Book late. The second generation Surface Book may be launched in the first half of 2017.

According to a report by Digitimes, the second generation Surface Book will now be launched in the first half of 2017 instead of the second half of 2016. The reason for this delay is believed to be the delay in CPU shipment by Intel. Instead of this, Microsoft may launch a Surface AIO PC.

In this report, quoting an industry source, it has been claimed that, “Surface AIO PC will have a significant impact on the global AIO PC market which is continuously decreasing due to the decline in PC products.” According to , the shipment of AIO PCs has fallen to 12.6 million in 2016 compared to 14 million shipments last year.

On Thursday, Microsoft announced the launch of 1TB Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 variants in 10 markets. Customers in Australia, Austria, China, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the UK can purchase these devices from Microsoft stores, retail partners, and official resellers. Surface Book has not been launched in the Indian market yet.

Along with this, Microsoft is also expected to release Windows 10 Anniversary Update on its device platform on August 2. Those who already have Windows 10 installed will get this update for free, while users using older Windows versions will have to pay about $119 (about Rs 8,000) for the upgrade.
