Security experts have always advocated keeping computers secure through strong passwords. But meanwhile, hacker Sammy Camkar has created a device which claims to hack any computer within minutes. Its price is 5 dollars (about Rs 340). This device, which costs around Rs 340, has been named PoisonTap. It is claimed to hack any computer system, as long as the browser is running in the background.

“PoisonTap is built for the $5 Raspberry Pi Zero. It has no other components except a micro-USB and microSD card,” Camcar wrote in a blog post.

Regarding this device, Camcar wrote that when PoisonTap is plugged into a device (password protected). It acts like an Ethernet device connected via USB and takes over all of the machine's Internet traffic. The device then begins to identify and store all HTTP cookies. In this sequence it becomes possible to attack the internal router. And it becomes possible to access it even from a remote location. After this the device installs a web-based back door. After this, the hacker can pressure the user to send HTTP requests as per his wish and can also decide the response himself. Camcar says that it is not necessary for the machine to be unlocked for this device to work. This is how a thief succeeds in making the door. Remote access remains intact even if the device is removed from the system.

Camcar told Motherboard, “It's completely automated. You plug it in and leave it on for a while. Then later you remove the device from the system and walk away. You don't even need to know that you What to do.”

He also told about how to protect the computer from PoisonTap. The user must take care to close the browser every time he/she logs off from the system. Turning off the USB/Thunderbolt ports also works. Users can also protect their systems from the risk of being hacked by switching to encrypted sleep mode.
