2022 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro launched with latest M2 chipset, up to 24GB RAM, know the price

Apple introduced its latest M2 chipset at WWDC 2022, and also announced the new MacBook Air (2022), and 13-inch MacBook Pro (2022) equipped with this in-house chipset of the company. The latest model also comes with a fan-less design, due to which it does not make noise. The new MacBook Air (2022) and MacBook Pro (2022) both get 13-inch LCD displays and come with full-size function keys, similar to the 2021 MacBook Pro lineup. The 2022 MacBook Air models have a new chassis.

Apple MacBook Air (2022), MacBook Pro (2022) price in India, availability

The new Apple MacBook Air (2022) with M2 is priced in India at Rs 1,19,900 (Rs 1,09,900 for Education), while the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 is priced in India at Rs 1,29,900 (Rs 1,09,900 for Education). Starts at Rs 19,900. The new MacBooks will be available in Midnight, Silver, Space Gray and Starlight Gold options from next month.

Apple MacBook Air (2022) specifications, features

The new Apple MacBook Air (2022) comes with the M2 chipset, which is an advanced version of the first generation M1 chip. Apple says the new chipset delivers 18 percent better CPU performance and 35 percent GPU performance than the previous version and is 1.9 times faster (CPU) and 2.3 times faster (GPU) than competing 10-core processors. The new chipset comes with new Secure Enclave, Media Engine and Neural Engine, and users can connect an external display with up to 6K resolution.

Apple has given the MacBook Air (2022) a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, unlike the mini-LED model offered in the 2021 MacBook Pro lineup. Compared to the MacBook Air (2020) model, the new model has thinner bezels, due to which the size of the display increases. The MacBook Air (2022) gets a notch, similar to the MacBook Pro models launched last year.

The Apple MacBook Air (2022) offers up to 2TB of SSD storage and can be configured with up to 24GB of memory. The laptop has a 1080p camera, which is better than the 720p camera on the 2020 model. The company's latest MacBook Air model is equipped with two USB Type-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports and also supports MagSafe charging and 3.5mm headphone jack. Just like the previous version, it claims to deliver 18 hours of battery backup while watching videos on a single charge.

Like the MacBook Air (2022), the new MacBook Pro (2022) also comes equipped with an M2 chipset, and users can opt for up to 24GB of memory along with up to 2TB of storage. According to Apple, the MacBook Pro (2022) comes equipped with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, and offers up to 500 nits of peak brightness with P3 color support.

Like previous versions, the MacBook Air is equipped with an active cooling system. Apple claims the MacBook Pro can deliver the same 20 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is more than the original M1 MacBook Air and its latest upgrades.
