Amazon Get Centre Notice For Selling Sweets As Ayodhya Ram Mandir Prasad

The consecration ceremony in Ram temple is going to take place tomorrow i.e. on 22nd January when there will be a festive atmosphere across the country. But before that another news related to Ram temple is coming. A notice has been sent to Amazon by the Center in which the e-commerce website has been accused of selling sweets in the name of Ram Temple Prasad and misleading the customers. The Centre's notice has accused the e-commerce site of deceptive trading, saying it is selling sweets as 'Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad'.

A complaint was filed by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). On the same complaint, this notice has been sent by the Center to Amazon. According to NDTV, Amazon has been accused in the complaint that the company is misleading customers by selling sweets in the guise of Prasad. In this regard, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has said that such work misleads the customers, and they end up buying misrepresented products. This influences their purchasing decisions.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has said that selling food products online through misrepresentation misleads users about the actual characteristics of the product. This type of work forces the user to take such purchasing decisions, which he probably would not have taken had he been aware of the authenticity of the product. Therefore it is wrong to do so.

The entire list of products listed in the name of Ram Mandir on Amazon has been brought into the dock, which includes Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad – Raghupati Ghee Laddus, Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad, Khoya Khobi Laddus, Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad – Desi Cow Milk. Peda etc. are included. CCPA has sent a notice to Amazon asking it to respond in this regard within 7 days. If the company does not take any necessary steps then action will be taken against it under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
