China Preparing for Nuclear Weapons Test, Satellite Images Give Indication

In an attempt to compete with America and gain dominance, China is busy increasing its military power. In this context, there are indications of preparations for conducting nuclear tests in Lop Nur of Xinjiang Autonomous Region in China. Satellite images show that this test can be done soon.

This information has been given in a report published in New York Times quoting these satellite images. Geospatial intelligence expert Renny Babiarz has provided evidence of China's nuclear test preparations. Babiarz, a former analyst at the US Department of Defense Pentagon, has studied satellite images of China's Lop Nur test area for several years. China conducted its first nuclear test in this area in October 1964.

This report says, “This activity of China is taking place at a critical period in its relations with America. President Joe Biden had said in a meeting with China's prominent leader Xi Xinping last month that he wants to strengthen these relations. Trying to.” However, China has declared this report wrong. He said that there is no basis for this. In the last few years, satellite images of Lop Nur have shown many changes in this area. According to the New York Times report, “Until a few years ago the site consisted of a few old buildings but is now a modern complex surrounded by a ring of security.”

Construction of a new airbase in this area has also been revealed in these satellite images. Apart from this, a drilling rig about 90 feet high is also present. A report by the Middlebury Institute of International Studies states that China's increasing missile power is indicating its move towards nuclear weapons. It had about 50 intercontinental ballistic missiles a little more than a decade ago. It is preparing to increase its number to more than 1,000 missiles in the next few years. About half of these missiles may be with nuclear capable launchers.
