Chrome OS Flex announced for PC and Mac users, Chromebook features will be available

Google has introduced a new version of Chrome OS for older PC and Mac users, named Chrome OS Flex. This new version is built on the same code base as Chrome OS and will be released with the software available for Chromebooks and other Chrome OS machines. The new operating system allows users to use some of the features of Chrome OS, including background updates, sandboxing, web apps, and Android phone notification syncing. According to the company, users will be able to download the early version of Chrome OS Flex on their computers or run it via a live USB.

In a blog post, Google has given information about the new free-to-download Chrome OS Flex operating system, which is built for businesses and schools. According to Google, the new operating system, like Chrome OS, provides access to web apps and virtualization, boosts speed, and supports background system upgrades. Chrome OS Flex also offers sandboxing and proactive security against viruses, ransomware, etc. The company says that ChromeOS Flex is deployed instantly via USB stick and after log-in, the user's cloud profile, settings, bookmarks and policies are also synced.

Chrome OS Flex gives users access to cross-platform features like the official Chrome browser, Google Assistant, and notification syncing with Android devices.

Google says users can try the early access version of Chrome OS Flex immediately, as long as they have a compatible PC or Mac computer and a blank USB drive. However, users will have to fill a form before downloading the new operating system and ensure that their device is included in the certified models list or not.

-First of all go to Chrome web store in Windows, macOS or Chrome OS.

-Now search for Chromebook Recovery Utility and download the extension.

-Now launch the Chromebook Recovery Utility extension and click on Get Started.

-After this choose Select a model from a list, Select a manufacturer or Select a product.

– Click on Continue and then insert the USB drive.

-Now select your USB then click on Continue and go to Create now.

Users can then boost the live version of Chrome OS Flex from the USB drive without putting their system at risk. Additionally, he can also install the OS permanently on PC or Mac. However, Google says that this is early access to the OS and some instability may be experienced.
