Data from aqi.in showed that the air quality index in Delhi was at 'hazardous' and 'severe' levels at 6 am the next morning. AQI was recorded at 910 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, 959 in Lajpat Nagar and 779 in Karol Bagh. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the average AQI was around 300 in most areas of Delhi.
It is worth noting that AQI is an indicator that tells the air quality of any city. AQI between zero and 50 falls in the 'good' category. It is considered 'satisfactory' between 51 and 100. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered 'moderate'. Between 201 and 300 it is considered 'bad', between 301 and 400 'very bad', between 401 and 450 'severe' and above 450 'very serious'.
