Sales of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), one of the largest two-wheeler companies, have increased by almost 20 percent in November. Last month, the company's total sales including exports were 4,47,849 units. It was 3,71,221 units in the same period last year.

Activa, Dio and Unicorn contributed significantly to the company's sales. The pace of sales of HMSI has increased rapidly during the festive season. The exports of this Japanese company increased by 38 percent to 27,172 units in November, which was 19,681 units in the same month last year. Recently HMSI launched SP125 Sports Edition motorcycle. Its price is Rs 90,567 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will be available at Honda Red Wing dealerships across the country. This motorcycle has been given better tank design, matte muffler cover and new graphics than before.

It will be available in Decent Blue Metallic and Heavy Gray Metallic colors. It has bright LED headlamp, fully digital instrument console. Mileage related information will also be available along with gear position indicator in its instrument console. The SP125 Sports Edition is powered by a 123.94 cc, single cylinder BS 6, OBD2 compliant PGM-FI engine, which generates 8 kW of power and 10.9 Nm of torque. The company is giving a special 10-year warranty with it which includes three years standard warranty and seven years optional warranty.

Global automobile company Honda plans to invest $3.4 billion in manufacturing electric motorcycles and mopeds. Honda, one of the world's largest two-wheeler makers, plans to launch 30 new electric two-wheelers by the end of this decade. The company also aims to reduce the cost of electric motorcycles. The company had said in a statement that it will invest about $ 700 million by 2025 for the electrification of its motorcycles. After this, about 2.7 billion dollars will be invested till 2030. Honda has also increased its global sales target to 40 lakh units by 2030. The company plans to initially use the existing infrastructure for its internal combustion engine models.
