How to activate and turn off automatic app updates on Android

The more apps you have on your phone or tablet, the more stressful it becomes to keep them updated. Most of the time developers release updates even for minor bugs. Many of these updates are not very important.

Now you are not so idle in life that you will take special care of updates every time. Therefore, in Android you get a default option on Google Play with the help of which the app updates automatically when there is only Wi-Fi network.

But sometimes it happens that you do not want to update the app. There can be many reasons for this. Unlike the Apple App Store, the Play Store gives users more flexibility in deciding on auto updates.

How to turn off automatic updates on specific apps on Android
If you like auto updates, but want to stop selected apps from updating, then this is the way to do it. The ability to turn off automatic updates for specific apps.

1. Open Google Play Store.

If you have an unlimited data plan, you can activate auto updates on cellular data as well.

How to activate auto update on Android
1. Open Google Play Store.
2. Tap on the icon shown at the top left. Swipe up and select Settings.
3. Inside the General section, select Auto update apps.
4. If you want to update only over Wi-Fi, then choose the third option – Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only.
5. If you want updates at any time, choose the second option: Auto-update apps at any time.

Remember that in the second option, the update will be downloaded in cellular data also, which means it will affect your mobile data bill. Think again before choosing this option.
