Maruti Suzuki Fronx Gets Sales of 1 Lakh Units in Less than 1 Year

Maruti Suzuki's Fronx crosses sales of more than 1 lakh units

The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki's Fronx has reached one lakh units. The company had introduced the Fronx at last year's Auto Expo. It has achieved sales of one lakh units in about 10 months since its launch. In this, the share of automatic variants of Fronx is 24 percent.

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki is also exporting it to the markets of Middle East, Latin America and South-East Asia. It is available in 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.0 liter turbo petrol boosterjet engine. Its 1.2 liter petrol engine generates maximum power of 88 bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Apart from the manual gearbox, the Fronx is also available with a 5-speed AMT. The company claims that it gives a mileage of 21.8 kmpl with manual gearbox and 22.89 kmpl in AMT variants.

If the customer wants, he can also buy Fronx's 1.2 liter engine with CNG. However, it will only be available with a manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki claims that the mileage of the CNG variant is 28.51 km/kg. Recently the company's SUV Brezza had achieved sales of more than 10 lakh units. This sub-compact SUV had crossed the sales of nine lakh units a few months ago. It is also the best selling sub-compact SUV in the country. It competes with Hyundai's Venue, Kia's Sonet and Mahindra & Mahindra's XUV300.

The large selling Brezza has a K15C smart hybrid petrol engine, which has a capacity of 1462 cc. This engine generates power of 75.8 kW at 6000 Rpm and torque of 136.8 Nm at 4400 Rpm. The capacity of its fuel tank is 48 litres. It is available in options of 5 manual transmissions and 6 automatic transmissions. It has ventilated discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear. At the end of last year, the company's plant in Gujarat had completed manufacturing of 30 lakh cars. Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maruti Suzuki, started this plant six years ago. In this, models like Swift, Baleno, Dzire and Fronx are made.
