Maruti Suzuki SUV Brezza Crosses One Million Sales

Maruti Suzuki's SUV Brezza, one of the big car companies, has achieved sales of more than 10 lakh units. This sub-compact SUV had crossed the sales of nine lakh units a few months ago. It is also the best selling sub-compact SUV in the country. It competes with Hyundai's Venue, Kia's Sonet and Mahindra&Mahindra's XUV300.

The large selling Brezza has a K15C smart hybrid petrol engine, which has a capacity of 1462 cc. This engine generates power of 75.8 kW at 6000 Rpm and torque of 136.8 Nm at 4400 Rpm. The capacity of its fuel tank is 48 litres. It is available in options of 5 manual transmissions and 6 automatic transmissions. It has ventilated discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The Brezza has Mac Pherson strut and coil spring suspension at the rear and torsion beam and coil spring suspension at the rear.

Recently, the company's plant in Gujarat had achieved the milestone of manufacturing 30 lakh cars. Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maruti Suzuki, started this plant six years ago. In this, models like Swift, Baleno, Dzire and Fronx are made. The company had said that it had manufactured the last 10 lakh cars in about 17 months. The annual capacity of this plant is about 7.5 lakh units. In this, cars are made for sale in the country as well as for export. Maruti Suzuki's first electric car eVX will also be manufactured in this plant from next year.

The company's managing director, Hisashi Takeuchi, had said that the ecosystem provided for manufacturing in the state has played a major role in achieving this feat. He had said, “With the acquisition of Suzuki Motor Gujarat, we are expanding our manufacturing. Our battery electric vehicles will also be manufactured in the Gujarat plant.” There has been an increase in the sales of Maruti Suzuki last month. The company has sold about 1.34 lakh units in November. The company had a large share in the sales of cars like Baleno, Swift and WagonR.
