Nothing Phone 2a Launch in India Soon Confirmed Offer Upgrades Over Phone 1 Expected Specifications Details

Nothing Phone 2a will be launched in India soon. The Carl Pei-led UK brand confirmed the news on Thursday, February 1, after some initial speculation. The exact launch date and features of the upcoming handset have not been revealed, but the company is teasing its launch through an event page on its India website. Nothing has launched two phones so far – Nothing Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2. The Phone 2a is expected to arrive as a mid-range offering.

Nothing announced the moniker of its next smartphone via its newsroom, which will be called Phone 2a. The name was announced as part of the brand's community update. Nothing has also launched a landing page on its Indian website with the label 'Coming Soon' to announce the arrival of the new handset. Interested customers can click on the “Notify Me” button on the website to get the latest updates about the launch.

The landing page doesn't reveal much about the Nothing Phone 2a, but the company claims that it has been engineered to deliver an optimal daily smartphone experience with all the features and craftsmanship of the Nothing. The handset, codenamed Aerodactyl, is confirmed to leverage some features of last year's Nothing Phone 2. It is claimed to bring an advanced experience compared to Nothing Phone 1.

Although the company has not yet confirmed the launch date of Nothing Phone 2a, it is largely speculated that it will be launched at the Mobile World Congress (2024) event in Barcelona.

As per previous leaks, the Nothing Phone 2a will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. It may come with Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 and may feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,084 x 2,412 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to get a dual rear camera setup, which may include a 1/1.5-inch 50-megapixel Samsung S5KNG9 primary sensor and a 1/2.76-inch 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor with an ultrawide lens. It is being told that the phone will have a 32-megapixel selfie camera with Sony IMX615 sensor.
