Samsung Affordable Foldable Smartphone to Launch Under Galaxy A Series
According to a report by WinFuture, export data from Samsung has revealed that the company has already started manufacturing components for a new foldable smartphone, which is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z foldable series.
According to the report, two foldable smartphones named “Q6” and “B6” have been repeatedly appearing internally on Samsung's online database since August last year. The names of these models are expected to be the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 series follows the name internally.
However, a new model with the tag “Q6A” has appeared on the database of Samsung's South Asian supplier that is producing components for the other two models. This is reportedly a hint that Samsung has started production of an affordable Galaxy Fold smartphone. The report says that the term “A” in the internal code name of the phone makes it clear that the more affordable variant of Galaxy Z Fold 6 can be included in Samsung's Galaxy A-series.
Last month, South Korea's The Elec reported that Samsung is planning to introduce a more affordable variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to increase its presence in the foldable market. The report also says that the company is working on reducing the thickness of its foldable smartphones to compete with Chinese brands like Xiaomi, HONOR and OPPO.
