Scientists found oldest and most distant black hole in universe JWST explore

Where is the black hole found?

This black hole has been observed in the very old galaxy GN-z11, which is 13.4 billion light years away. This black hole is about 6 million times bigger than the Sun and it seems that it is eating the material present in its surrounding galaxy 5 times faster.

According to Space.com report, team leader Roberto Maillino of the Physics Department of Cambridge University has described this discovery as 'a huge leap' for black hole science. He said that seeing such a big black hole in the universe is a beginning. We have to think what other reasons could be there for the formation of black holes.

A question also arises whether giant black holes eat the matter around them more rapidly. Scientists have not been able to find the answer to this question yet. In this case, the research team feels that the reason for the rapid feeding of the black hole is its galaxy. Because the black hole is consuming matter very rapidly, this may hinder the development of the galaxy. In the report the black hole has been called a glutton.

The discovery could be a major step forward in understanding how supermassive black holes grew to millions of billions of times the mass of the Sun in the early ages of the universe.
