US first Private moon mission fails Nasa lander will not able to land full details

US Private Moon Mission: After almost 50 years, earlier this week America took a historic flight to land on the moon. A private manufacturer named United Launch Alliance (ULA) had launched NASA's Peregrine 1 lunar lander into orbit with the help of its Vulcan Centaur rocket. The organizers of the mission have now said that their efforts will soon fail. According to NDTV report, Astrobotic started reporting a glitch just hours after the launch. The company has said that there is no longer any possibility of soft landing on the Moon.

What went wrong in the mission?

According to reports, a propulsion glitch occurred just hours after the mission was launched. Due to this, the solar panels of the Peregrine lander could not be focused towards the Sun. Due to this, the outer part of the spacecraft also got damaged. The Peregrine lander now has about 40 hours of fuel left. Mission organizers say that the spacecraft will be operated as long as there is propellant left in it.

Nasa had spent 100 million dollars

Nasa had spent 100 million dollars for the success of this mission. Through the Peregrine 1 lunar lander, NASA wanted to gather information about the composition of the moon's surface and radiation in the atmosphere of the landing site. Obviously the failure of the mission would have dealt a blow to NASA's hopes.

This is not the first time that a private company tried to land on the moon and failed. First of all, in April 2019, Israel's Bearish lander crashed on the surface of the moon. In April last year, the Hukato mission of Japanese company iSpace had crashed on the moon.
