Video How women scientist is enjoying coffee in space 400 km above the earth watch
This video shows how different the challenges are for astronauts on the ISS. They have to use different methods even for basic needs like drinking coffee. The reason for this is microgravity, which becomes zero in space.
The European Space Agency (ESA) has shared a video on the social media platform X. The video shows the process of an astronaut drinking coffee aboard the ISS. The astronaut's name is Samantha Cristoforetti. She is shifting ready-to-eat coffee, which is in liquid form, from a special beverage bag to a smaller container.
The video shows that shifting the coffee from the special beverage bag to the container is a difficult task. Even more difficult is drinking coffee there, because coffee cannot be sipped in zero gravity. Special containers that have been specially designed for space help in this work.
Sharing the video, the European Space Agency wrote, Our astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti shows how she drinks her morning coffee in space! This post has been viewed thousands of times so far.
Commenting on the video, a user wrote that these small things tell us how life is like in space and outside the earth. The coffee containers that Samantha is using have been designed by NASA. These are transparent containers and also help astronauts understand how liquid substances move in space.
While drinking coffee from these containers, astronauts have to touch the coffee with their lips. They don't have to sip coffee. It automatically goes into their body.
