Windows 10 Anniversary Update starts available

As expected, Microsoft has released Windows 10 Anniversary Update for computers and tablets running Windows 10. As of June, the number of people using Windows 10 on their machines worldwide was close to 300 million. Now Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be available on all these machines.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be released in phases, so it may take a while for the update to reach you. Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update was also expected to be released along with it but it did not happen. Microsoft says that new updates will be released in the 'coming weeks' and that's all we can tell about it for now.

This update is free for all users using Windows 10. But users upgrading from the older version of Windows to Windows 10 will have to pay $119 (about Rs 8,000) for it. Microsoft officially ended its free upgrade program for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users on July 29. But users can still get free upgrades by adopting some tricks.

All personal Windows 10 users can manually install this update by following these steps. But users using Windows 10 PC in office will have to get information about this update from their administration.

The company announced Windows 10 Anniversary Update at its annual Build conference in March. The new update will include several other features, including Windows Ink for the Stylus and extensions for Microsoft's Edge browser. With these updates, new improvements will also be seen in Hello and Cortana.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update will allow Cortana to make suggestions to users throughout the day.
