Asteroid 2008 OS7 is the largest among the asteroids that are coming close to the Earth in the next few days. According to NASA JPL, it will pass close to our planet on February 2 at a distance of 28 lakh 50 thousand kilometers. At 890 feet, Asteroid 2008 OS7 is the size of an indoor stadium.

However, it is not likely to collide with the Earth. But scientists will keep an eye on it until it goes too far from the Earth.

On February 2, two other asteroids are also coming closer to the Earth. Their size can be equal to an aircraft. Of these, the size of the asteroid (2024 BJ3) is about 71 feet and it will cross our planet at a distance of 8 lakh 57 thousand kilometers.

According to NASA, asteroids are also called minor planets. Just as all the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun, similarly asteroids also revolve around the Sun. Asteroids are rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Scientists have so far detected 11 lakh 13 thousand 527 asteroids.
Most asteroids are found in the main asteroid belt. It is between Mars and Jupiter. Their size can range from 10 meters to 530 kilometers. The total mass of all the asteroids discovered so far is less than that of the Earth's Moon.
