Apple launches iMac 24-Inch, Apple TV 4K also better than before, know the price and all the features

Apple launched the all-new iMac at its Spring Loaded event on Tuesday, April 20, which featured its custom-designed ARM chip. Like always, this time also this new upgraded 24 inch iMac of Apple is thinner, faster and cooler running device than the first generation. Along with this, the company also launched Apple TV with new improvements, which is a 4K streaming device. It will have Apple A12 Bionic SoC which you can see in Apple's latest iPhone 12 generation handsets. Preorders for both the new iMac and the new Apple TV 4K will begin at the end of the month and will go on sale next month.

All-New 24-inch iMac, Apple TV 4K refresh price and availability

The new iMac has Apple M1 SoC and its price starts at $1,299 in the US which is approximately Rs 97,900. It can be preordered from April 30. This price of the device is for its 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 256GB storage, Magic Keyboard model. Whereas in India its price starts from Rs 1,19,900 and goes up to Rs 1,39,000 which also includes 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 256GB storage model. Whereas the price of high-end devices, which include 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 512GB storage model, starts from Rs 1,59,000. These devices also come with Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. Whereas in the US, the price of its high-end models is $1,499 (approximately Rs 1,13,00) and $1,699 (approximately Rs 1,28,100). The company said that the new M1-based iMac device will start selling from the third week of May.

Talking about Apple TV 4K, it comes with A12 Bionic SoC and its 32GB storage model is priced at $179 (approximately Rs 13,500). While the 64GB storage model costs $199 (roughly Rs. 15,000), the price in India starts at Rs. 18,900 and goes up to Rs. 20,900. It can also be pre-ordered from April 30 and will be available in around 30 countries. The new Siri Remote comes at a price of Rs 5,800 and also works with older Apple TV devices. AppleCare+ will also be available for the first time with Apple TV 4K, priced at Rs 2,900.

All new 24-inch iMac with M1 SoC features, specifications

The M1 based iMac has a new design. Its distraction free muted color is quite attractive and it is brighter on the back side. Its base model is available in four color options – blue, green, red and silver. Its two high-end models are available in yellow, orange and purple colors. The iMac features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display (4480×2520 pixels), Apple's True Tone color balance, P3 wide color gamut, 500 nits of brightness, and a low reflectivity coating. The company says that its 24-inch display fits in a slightly larger frame than the earlier 21.5-inch model. This (AIO) PC of Apple is more compact and as thin as only 11.5mm.

Apple says that its M1 chip and its ARM-based design are what reduce the size of the chip logic board in the system and the device needs a smaller thermal system. Along with this, in place of the big fan installed inside, two small fans are now installed which makes it noise free up to 50 percent (<10 dB). Apart from instant wakeup, its new SoC also has many other benefits. It gives up to 85 percent faster performance than the old 21.5 model. GPU performance has also become 2 times faster. At the same time, machine learning performance has been claimed to be up to 3 times faster.

The all-new iMac also features a 1080p webcam that uses the M1's neural engine to recognize faces and deliver better exposure and color balance. Apart from this, it also has a studio quality 3-mic array with beamforming tech. There is also a Dolby Atmos certified 6-speaker system with force-canceling woofers and high-performance tweeters.

There are options for connectivity. New iMac users can choose from four USB Type-C ports. Two of these could be Thunderbolt. The AIO supports 6K display. This time a new magnetic power connector has also been provided in it. It comes with a two meter woven color match cable and adapter. It connects to an Ethernet port to save space. Not only this, Apple has also launched three new Magic Keyboards. One of these color matching keyboards is for Spotlight, Dictation, Do Not Disturb and Emoji. The second keyboard has the same design but also has Wireless Touch ID. And finally, the third new model has the same design but also has a numpad. New color matching versions of the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad have also been improved.

In terms of specifications, the 24-inch base model comes with 16GB of unified memory. It has 1TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth v5 and two Thunderbolt 4 or USB 4 ports. Whereas its high-end model has SSD storage up to 2 TB and three USB ports are provided separately.

Apple TV 4K with A12 Bionic features, specifications

Apple TV 4K has Apple's A12 Bionic processor. It also supports high frame rate HDR content. Apple has said that it is in talks with content providers to provide international level content. iPhone 12 Pro users can record 60 fps Dolby Vision HDR content right from their phone.

This time Apple has given a new feature in the name of Color Balance. This is for Apple TV 4K users so that the color balance of the TV can be adjusted through the iPhone. In this, the iPhone has to be held at a fixed spot in front of the TV and with the help of the light sensor present on the iPhone, the color output of the TV is balanced.

A new Siri Remote has also been launched with Apple TV 4K. This can be purchased separately. This remote also works with Apple's previous generation TV Apple TV HD. This remote has a touch keypad, an outer ring that can read circular motion so that the video can be sought on the timeline. The remote has a power button that controls the TV set. The company says it is made of 100 percent recycled aluminum.
