Asteroid 2023 TW6 come towards earth today with a speed of 88000 km size earth approach
NASA JPL website states that this asteroid is coming towards the Earth at a speed of about 88 thousand 7 kilometers per hour. Given its close distance from the Earth, scientists have placed it in the category of potentially dangerous. However, there is no possibility of it colliding with the Earth.
It has also been reported that the asteroid (2023 TW6) belongs to the Apollo Groups' asteroid and is about 6 times larger than the asteroid that fell on a city in Russia in 2013. If such asteroids collide with the Earth, they can cause major devastation.
Scientists have been believing that millions of years ago, dinosaurs were wiped out from our earth due to the destruction caused by an asteroid collision. Another special thing about the asteroid (2023 TW6) is that it had come close to our planet about 100 years ago and may next pass close to the Earth in 2030.
According to NASA, these are also called minor planets. Just as all the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun, similarly asteroids also revolve around the Sun. Asteroids are rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Scientists have so far detected 11 lakh 13 thousand 527 asteroids.
