Bajaj Auto Sales Increase 16 Percent in December to 3,26,806 Units
The company's total two-wheeler sales in the country increased by 26 percent to 1,58,370 units. It was 1,25,553 units in December last year. Bajaj Auto's exports increased to 1,24,631 units. It was 1,21,499 units in December last year. The total sales of commercial vehicles of the company have been 27 percent higher. The company sold 43,805 units of commercial vehicles in December. Last year in December the sales were 34,462 units.
Last year the company had launched a new version of Chetak electric scooter. New features have been given in it. Its range has also been increased. There has been no change in the design of this electric scooter. It has been made available in three new colors, Matte Coarse Grey, Matte Caribbean Blue and Satin Black. It has a large LCD digital console, premium two-toned seats and scooter-coloured rear view mirrors. Its headlamps, indicators and central trim elements have a charcoal black finish. Its ARAI certified range is 108 kilometers in a single charge. However, the company says that its actual range is around 90 kilometers. There was no change in its battery size.
Triumph Speed 400 is also being manufactured at Bajaj Auto's Chakan factory near Pune. Its starting price is Rs 2.33 lakh. This motorcycle has Triumph's new TR series engine. It is a fuel injected, liquid cooled single cylinder engine. Its cubic capacity is 398.15 cc. It can give a mileage of around 28 kmpl. The engine of Triumph Speed 400 generates power of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It has a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. It has an analog speedometer with a digital screen. Its other features include LED lighting, immobilizer and ride by throttle.
