Can lottery be won by buying 27 tickets Two mathematicians claimed

Lottery tickets are sold in many countries of the world, and if won, one gets a bumper amount. Last July, two British mathematicians discovered a way to win the UK National Lottery. He claimed to have won the lottery after purchasing 27 tickets of different sets. The surprising thing is that this formula of mathematicians became popular all over the world including Britain. Many people tried their luck by purchasing 27 tickets according to the sets given by them, although got different results.

According to NDTV report, Manchester mathematicians David Stewart and David Cushing had discovered a way to win the lottery. The reality is that victory cannot be guaranteed with this method. However, he claimed in his study that at least 27 tickets can be purchased to win the lottery.

The author associated with the study said that people participating in the UK National Lottery buy tickets of their choice from six different numbers between 1 and 59. He said that during the draw, 6 are selected from sets 1 to 59. The lottery is won for the person whose lottery number matches at least 2 of the 6 numbers.

On this basis, mathematicians identified 27 tickets which can win the lottery. Researchers took the help of finite geometry in this work. Research revealed that to include 59 lottery numbers in your tickets, you would need at least 27 tickets.

Mathematicians may have declared their formula as a guarantee of victory, but it is not yet clear how many people won tickets by adopting this formula.
