According to Dr Julio Aguado of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland, Covid-19 infection rapidly increases the number of zombie cells. These start accumulating in the brain more rapidly with increasing age. These are cells that give rise to tissue inflammation, which causes problems like brain fog and memory loss in the patient's mind.

It has been told in the release that researchers have found 4 medicines which can eliminate the cells affected by Covid 19 in the brain. Their names are – a cocktail drug made by combining navitoclax, ABT-737, fisetin, and dasatinib plus quercetin (D+Q). These medicines helped the brain to become young again. Also reduced neurodegenerative symptoms. Researchers have said that more in-depth research is needed to fully understand this mechanism.
