GSAT 24 satellite use started by Tata Play you will be able to watch 900 channels
900 channels, coverage from North-East to Andaman
According to the press release of PIB, with the start of use of GSAT-24 satellite, users will now be able to watch 900 TV channels on Tata Play. These channels can be seen across India, from the hilly areas of North-East India to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Not only this, people will get to hear better picture quality and sound than before.
What is GSAT-24 satellite?
GSAT-24 is a 24-Ku band communication satellite, weighing 4,180 kg. This will give pan India coverage to meet the needs of DTH applications. NSIL, which launched it, is the commercial arm of the country's space agency ISRO. The satellite was launched last year by an Ariane 5 rocket operated by French company Arianespace from Kourou in French Guiana (South America).
The advantage of having a channel on a satellite?
Tata Play will get a big benefit by starting the use of GSAT-24 satellite. All the channels going on air on its platform will be relayed from this satellite. Earlier, channels were relayed from different satellites and in many areas users were not able to watch their favorite channels. Now people in every corner of the country will get to watch their favorite channel.
Will the cost of recharge increase?
According to Tata Play, among the 300 new channels that will be added on its DTH platform, most of them are educational and entertainment channels. These channels will also be in regional languages. It is claimed that users will not have to spend much money to watch these.
