Japan Moon mission: After the success of India's Chandrayaan-3 mission, now Japan's Moon mission is ready with the hope of successful landing on the Moon. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched its mission in September this year. It will try to land on the moon on January 20 next month. If Japan succeeds, it will become the fifth country in the world to make a soft landing on the Moon. Till now Russia, America, China and India have landed their missions on the moon.

Interestingly, the Indian Space Agency (ISRO) took 40 days to reach the Moon. Then it was said that we are slower than countries like America and Russia and are taking more time to land the mission on the moon. But the Japanese mission will try to land on the Moon after taking more than 4 months.

The main reason for this is that the SLIM spacecraft that Japan has sent to reach the moon will travel a long distance. This will result in less fuel consumption. In its total journey, the Japanese spacecraft will revolve around the Moon and explore it for about a month.

In the month of September, JAXA had sent SLIM spacecraft for the purpose of soft landing on the moon. The spacecraft was sent aboard a rocket named H-2A. India had created history by landing on the south pole of the Moon. At the same time, Japan's mission will try to land in Shioli Crater on the moon.

Japan's 'Slim' is lighter than India's Vikram Lander

If SLIM lander is compared with India's Vikram lander, it is much less in weight. The SLIM lander weighs approximately 200 kg, while the Vikram lander weighed 1750 kg.
