Nasa shared stunning image of galaxy UGC 8091 having billions of stars 70 lakh light years away
NASA has shared the photo on its social media handle. According to the space agency, Galaxy UGC 8091 is located in the Virgo constellation, 7 million light years away from Earth. It is also written that it is as if Christmas is being celebrated in the universe too. Even though it is being called a dwarf galaxy, the space agency says that billions of stars are present in it. Because of its shape it is called an irregular galaxy. Due to which it looks like a snow globe.
NASA's caption explains that UGC 8091 is not just irregular, but a dwarf, or minor, galaxy. It is much smaller than giant galaxies like the Milky Way. The photo has been taken with the help of NASA's Hubble Wide Field Camera 3 and Advanced Camera for Survey. 12 camera filters have been used in it.
In the press note, NASA has written that the image has been created by combining data from 2006 to 2021 in which various types of light filters have been used. The red part visible in the photo shows the hydrogen molecules coming out from inside the stars which are continuously throwing light. According to NASA, these stars are newly born and are still hot. Whereas the other light seen in the photo is coming from old wires. Space scientists are now studying such small galaxies. So that the formation of new and ancient galaxies and the relationship between them can be understood.
