Tecno to Launch 24 New Smartphones in India Next Year, Targets to Come in Top 5 Brands

Chinese smartphone maker Tecno aims to be among the top five smartphone brands in India next year. For this, the company will focus on increasing its focus on the premium segment as well as increasing its sales in metro cities. Tecno ranks sixth in the country’s smartphone market.

Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of Tecno’s India unit, said, “The country’s smartphone market is maturing and customers are demanding more premium features. We plan to launch 24 new smartphones next year. Of these, 50 percent will be 5G. Will be enabled.” The company’s smartphones have strong demand in tier two and below cities. The main reason for this is the low price and more features of these smartphones. In the last few months, it has increased its focus on premium smartphones. The average selling price of the company was Rs 11,000 to Rs 12,000 at the beginning of this year and it has increased to Rs 18,000 to Rs 19,000.

It is preparing to increase sales in the segment above Rs 15,000. Tecno’s sales this year have been around 7.5 lakh units and the target is to increase it to around 15 lakh units next year.
