Weather News: The month of January was a bone-chilling cold in the entire North India including Delhi. The January winter for Delhi was the coldest in the last 13 years. Data has shown that the average maximum temperature in Delhi till January 30 was 17.7 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest in 13 years. During the same period, the average minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 6.2 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest for the second time in 13 years.

The data also revealed that Delhiites faced difficulties not only in terms of cold but also in terms of pollution levels. January of 2024 was the most polluted since 2018. During this period the average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 354. CPCB data shows that Delhi faced the highest pollution on January 14 this year, when the Air Quality Index reached 447.

According to PTI report, the average maximum temperature in Delhi during January 1 to 30 was 17.7 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest in 13 years. In January 2012, the average maximum and minimum temperatures for the entire month were 19.7 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees respectively. Whereas in January 2013 it was recorded 19 degrees and 6.1 degrees.

The Meteorological Department estimates that light rain or thundershowers along with strong winds are expected in many areas of the capital today. Talking about pollution, the air quality index of the capital was recorded at 357 on Tuesday, which falls in the very poor category.
