The rating of TikTok App was falling rapidly for some time, it had dropped from 4.5 to 1.2. But suddenly the falling rating of this app started improving. The reason behind this is the removal of 1 star rating given to TikTok by Google Play. Yes, Google Play has removed the 1 star rating that video sharing app TikTok was getting for some time, due to which the rating of this app has now increased from 1.2 to 1.4. Let us tell you, due to the video posted by famous TikTok star Faisal Siddiqui, the demand to ban this app had increased rapidly. In this video, Faizal was accused of glorifying acid attack. Due to this, the TikTok app had to face a lot of loss last week. A large number of people gave 1 star rating giving negative reviews against this app on Google Play and Apple App Store.

However, this is not the only reason for TikTok's declining popularity. In fact, fans of famous YouTuber Carry Minati have also been protesting against this app for some time, who are continuously demanding to ban this app through Twitter and other social media platforms. Not only this, in some reviews given against the app on Google Play Store, TikTok has been described as a Chinese app and people are also being requested not to use it.

In this way, the direct effect of public anger is being seen on Google Play Store, where within 1 week the rating of TikTok has decreased from 4.5 rating to 1.2. On the other hand, the rating of Apple App Store is also average, which has decreased from 4.5 to 3.5. However, TikTok's rating on Google Play Store has seen improvement. Actually, Google has deleted some negative reviews received against the app, which were against the policy of Google Play Store.

At the time of writing the news, TikTok's rating had increased from 1.2 to 1.4 on Google Play Store.

Did Google Play remove TikTok's 1 star rating?

Google has been removing negative reviews and ratings that people have been giving to the TikTok app for some time. However, this does not at all mean that Google is supporting TikTok in this dispute or trying to save it. Actually, these reviews are against the policy of the App Store. Posting the same review multiple times or from different accounts is against Google's rules. Clearly its purpose is to spoil the rating of the app. Apart from this, Google has also said that people should not make political or social comments in reviews. However, in the case of TikTok, that is what people are doing. So for this reason Google Play Store has decided to remove negative reviews, which is not surprising.

Why are users giving bad rating to TikTok app?

There are some reasons behind why people are dropping the ratings of TikTok app on Google Play and Apple App Store. The first reason is anti-China sentiment, which has increased since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, after Faizal Siddiqui's video, the spark against TikTok took the form of fire. Faisal Siddiqui had made a TikTok video, in which he was seen throwing water on a girl. As soon as he threw water, the girl was seen in different make-up in the video, indicating scars from the acid attack. Only after this, people made it viral on social media and started demanding to ban TikTok app for promoting serious crime like acid attack. The third reason was Carry Minati's video “YouTube vs TikTok – The End”, in which he especially roasted Aamir Siddiqui and other TikTokers. Carry Minati's followers started giving 1-star rating to the TikTok app after this.

Is the banning of Aamir Saddiqui's TikTok account related to the current controversy?

The latest update on this matter is that Aamir Siddiqui's TikTok account has also been suspended. Carry Minati's fans are calling it a victory for Carry, they feel that Aamir has been suspended from TikTok after Carry's video. But actually the reason for Aamir Siddiqui's suspension is not related to this controversy. Actually, Aamir Siddiqui's account has been suspended due to violation of TikTok's guidelines.

YouTube vs TikTok battle

However, apart from this, there is another reason due to which TikTok has been under criticism for some time, that is the YouTube vs TikTok issue. Actually, Aamir Siddiqui had said in the TikTok video that the content of TikTok is better and more entertaining than YouTube videos. After which he started being criticized by YouTubers from all sides. But this issue gained momentum when famous YouTuber Carry Minati, in his roast video along with Aamir Siddiqui, took on all the TikTokers and roasted them fiercely. Since then TikTokers are being trolled by YouTubers.

Why are people calling TikTok a Chinese app?

A large number of people who have given 1 star rating to TikTok are standing against this app because they are associating it with China. Actually, the owner of TikTok is ByteDance, whose headquarters is located in Beijing. But this company has offices in many countries outside Beijing also. TikTok is a global product of the company. The about page of the TikTok site states that TikTok has many global offices, which include Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul and Tokyo etc. But if we look at the current environment, everyone is holding China responsible for the Covid-19 virus, due to which people are opposing China in their own way. It is for this reason that some Indian users are vehemently opposing TikTok.
